On January 22, I gave my pitch for my 20 Time project. I was prepared for my presentation, but I got nerve as soon as I stood in front of the class. When I finished, Hannah said I pronounced two words wrong, but otherwise the presentation was good. I must have done well because I ended up getting 110% in RDS for my Pitch Presentation. The power-point I used to present my idea can be found below.
Today, I got our family's sewing machine out of storage. My mom does not even remember the last time it was used so I was very thankful when it turned on. In order to work the sewing machine, I had to read the MANUAL! It might seem like a lost tradition, but it was necessary to read it. The manual lead me step by step to thread and set up the sewing machine. The hardest part for me was bringing the bottom thread up.
Without going to my nana's over the summer, I would have struggled more with the sewing machine. When I went to my nana's, she sewed a curtain for me that I never got around to sewing. I watched my nana sew so I had an idea of how to work the sewing machine. Down below is a picture of my first stitch that I am extremely proud of. Over the weekend, I have collected materials to be used in making the dresses. Since my family does not have used patterned pillowcases, I had to search for pillowcases elsewhere. I found three pillowcases at Goodwill for $1 each. My church, Redeemer Lutheran Church, has collected pillow cases for this same project so I acquired three pillow cases from them as well. A few years ago I bought fabric for a curtain that I decided not to make so I have the fabric that was going to be used in the curtain. I found excess t-shirt material from making a t-shirt quilt with my grandma. The t-shirt material will be used to decorate and personalize the dresses. Here is a picture of all the materials that I found over the weekend:
